Is there a Cpu donor out there?

Hello fellow computer specialists.

I'm looking for a intel cpu upgrade but, I dont have the cash to drop to get one. I'm running a Pentium 4 right now but, it just doesn't have what it takes. If your upgrading or just have a cpu laying around I'm asking for one better then the one I own. I know its a lot to ask. my intel cpu slot is a Lga 755. please consider.

you may want to think about saving and just starting from scrath, lga775 is done for and all its cpus are bad, a little 60 buck athlon will probably kill your current cpu every time.

I agree the socket is dead and not worth investing in, but to say its bad is simply not true. You can find a lot of those older CPU's stupid cheap and they'll run most games fine (my 775 q9450 runs crysis 2 no sweat). Its nice for people like me who's got stacks and stacks of DDR2 RAM and no wish to upgrade until APU's are more integrated into the market, or DDR4 comes out, or something like that.

My 2 cents.

As for the original question. Money doesn't just magically appear for us and we wouldn't give it to someone with only one post anyway. Save up and buy your own. Or you could ask for used in the For Sale section when you get 100 posts. :D
 
i know it isn't a crap socket, in comparisson to the lga1155 it's a pile of sh1t thow, but if you check my sig i'm on a pentium dual core et2210 @2.2ghz, when on windows (ubuntu now) i'm normally oc'n to 2.5ghz, and with my geforce 7050 i can bottom out crysis and play it with 30+fps, but i do have to use the driver software to disable stuff to get that to work, actually i might go play that now, thnx for saying that so i remembered i had that :D
 
ha you both make good points. I think im going to stick around and see if i can get help too make a beast of a machine. I'll ask some questions about motherboards i guess :p

You can't really compare cpu's that were 2-3 generations older. Sure they would be faster, but even a C2D or a C2Q would be a ton faster than what his P4's doing.
 
i was replying to kobaj saying that when i said it was a crap socket i was wrong, so i said that it isn't a crap socket but in comparison to a modern socket, well it is a crap socket
 
Maybe you should press the quote button then so people know who you're talking to.

Check your local ebay/craigslist for computer pits and pieces.
