im trying to do a favor for a friend..i dont usually need to burn videos to dvd to watch on a dvd player cause i have a media streamer but i remember before i had it and i tried to do this it would be like a 3 hour process if not more

is there a faster way to get these vids on dvds so there watchable on a dvd player?

you are limited to the speed of your drive. Whatever software you use to burn your discs, there will be an option somewhere to change the write speed. Set that to the highest, that is your drive write limit, and it will do it faster, but the quality of the video may decrease
 
Lot of variables for this answer.
You are limited to the type of DVD burner, software, type of computer and what type of media discs you are using.
 
It's usually not about the speed of the drive, since that typically only takes a few minutes. When you encode video you are limited by your computers processing power, the more powerful computer the faster it will encode.
