Is there a Java Update virus?

It seems that Java is saying it needs to update just about every day. I'll update it one day, and the next, I'll get a pop up that says it needs to be updated again.

My wife said she had heard that this might be a virus. Is this normal Java behavior, and is there a safe way to update Java.

I'd appreciate your input on this. Thanks.

It's either one of 2 things.

1. The java update isn't actually installing correctly or
2. You are infected somehow

Java doesn't update everyday, maybe a couple times a month.

The latest version of java is version 7 update 45.

If you have anything older than Java 7 Update 45, uninstall them and then get the latest version from java.com
