Is there a program to clean up unused files?

Such as text files and DAT files that arent needed. I don't wanna delete something important
 
the closest thing i can think of for it is a type of registry cleaner. Wont get rid of text files but will get rid of dll's and unused and old registy files and logs. The one i use is regcleaner and u can get it from Here and if you dont feel comfortable deleting things ur not sure of u can just go into tools/registy cleanup/do them all and itll scan ur system and give u a list of all the files u dont need. Select them and hit remove selected.

The only problem with that program is that it dosent like to run off of shortcuts. You need to run directly from the exe for it to work everytime
