Is there any reason to wait to build a new gaming PC? Anything on the horizon?

Hi guys, I've been thinking about buying a new high-end gaming PC with a GeForce RTX 4090 video card and most of the top of the line components. Been thinking about getting one prebuilt to save the hassle of putting it together myself, would cost around $4,000. My question is: are there any legitimate reasons to wait for a while before making this large purchase? From what I've read the GeForce RTX 5090 won't be coming out until Fall of 2025... but I've been reading something about display port 2.0 which I guess the 4090 doesn't have....? I'd like to run games in 4K with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Basically if possible I want to avoid the scenario where I spend a bunch of money on a new gaming PC, then some new tech comes out a month later that's way better and I should have waited for.

Thanks for any thoughts on this!
