Is there anything wrong with this laptop?

Hey everyone, I was thinking of buying this laptop and it only costs $300

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9368169&type=product&id=1218092959299

I'm going to be doing pretty basic stuff so the laptop should be able to handle whatever I'm doing

I'm worried about the processor...the "intel celeron" thing is the same as my old comp that broke down(which was really slow).

For only $300, I would assume there's something bad about the laptop that I'm not noticing...

Thanks for the help
:D

No, I would not buy that. You can get a better laptop than that with an Intel Atom for that price. Look on www.newegg.com for that. I assume since you said that you will be doing basic stuff that you will only need a netbook. A netbook will be perfect for simple stuff.

That's pretty similar to my mother's laptop. I think it's the exact same case and all, but maybe a slightly faster processor and 160GB rather than 120GB drive. I know she's got a Celeron though, and it's surprisingly fast, even with Vista loaded. For basic web browsing, youtube and such, it's really a good laptop. Keyboard has a great feel to it, screen looks nice (minus the couple of dead pixels)

I beg to differ there... I don't know exactly how fast that processor is, but I had a little Acer Apsire One and it was much slower than mom's laptop as mentioned above. And I loaded a fresh copy of XP on mine, her's had Vista Home Premium. Plus, if needed, the Toshiba would have a DVD-RW.

Dude, you're comparing apples to oranges here. The architecture of the your Celeron to the one in this Toshiba are like comparing a Core2 to a Pentium M...
