Is this a decent deal/computer?

I am not the best when it comes to the internal components of a computer. So i don't know if it would be the best thing for me to attempt to build one. I also don't know which parts would be best. I was wondering if I could get some help. I am looking for a decent computer from gaming without spending 2k or something like that.

I found this one at a local store. Is it a decent computer at a decent price?

I am looking at the $499 one.
Thanks in advance!

I'd say no... old hardware, dead CPU socket, no mention of power supply, the video card upgrade option is not worth it. Not a gaming machine.

Agree with what Claptonman said.

As far as I'm concerned that website is overpriced even with the 5 year warranty. If you can find someone local to build a system for you, then do that.

If you can activate more than 5% of your brain, than you can build a computer. For $500, you can get a decent gaming machine.

I am sure I could put it together if I had everything in front of me.. I just don't know what parts are the best, where to buy, what is compatible, etc.. im gonna see if my friends no any one

We can give you advice on the parts here. If you live in the US you can order it from Newegg or Tiger Direct. We just need a budget and what you are looking to do with it I'm guessing that gaming is the main focus but is there anything else.

Yea i am pretty much going to use it for gamin. Besides that, basically just browsing the internet and stuff like that. As far as the price range goes.. I was thinking around maybe 500?? because i will need to buy an OS and some of the peripherals
