A guy told me this is the best gaming build for my budget (3000$)

~Intel Core i7 940 = $600
~Intel x58 Motherboard = $250
~6 GB Patriot DDR3 Triple Channel RAM = $200
~Blu-ray Burner DVD/RW CD/RW = $200
~128 SSD Hard Drive for Operating system = $400
~1.5 TB seagate drive for music, movies, games, and backups. = $120
~850 Watt PSU = $200
~GTX 295 = $500
~Coolermaster Cosmos 1100 Case, with 2 extra 200 MM fans = $250
~Windows Vista x64 bit Ultimate $300

i need to know if that is the best build and if you can i would really appreciate if you could post the newegg.com urls for these parts i cant find them. also instead of a blue ray burner i want a blue ray player and a DVD burner if you can find it

I asked this b4 and i mailed him there comments and he replied
CPU: Is it really worth to pay extra going for 940?? The $300 i7 920 could easily be overclock << no it won't. The 940 gets to 3.4 on air, and the 920 goes to 3.1

Blu-ray Burner: I don't see the point of having Blu-ray Burner at the moment. I suggest going for blu-ray rom for reading blu-ray disk, and having a normal DVD burner << you asked for a build that eats PC's

SSD Drive: Do you really need 128GB?? My OS partition hardly use over 20GB. Would it be better to chop down to 64GB?? <<<<You need more room for program files. They can't all be installed on the backup HD.

Case: Do you really need full atx case? Why not a cheaper mid-atx? <<<<Because you need room for liquid cooling, I assumed you were a gamer.

Intel motherboard? That is something I personally would not buy. You might want to think about Asus, eVGA, Gigabyte. <<< ME? If you ask me to tell you a PC, and then you disagree, that's fine. Remember I do this for a living. Evga is crap, and Gigabyte is going out of business. Asus has no tech support.

Good luck.

he kinda is refuzing to build it for me now but i can get local comp. store to build it 4 me

the stuff he wrote is after the <<<<<

1. Who ever sent you that email is an idiot.
2. the i7 920 will do higher than 3.1 on air I have one.
3. the asus and evga x58 boards are great gigabyte isnt bad either (intels great don't get me wrong the other are good to.)
4.Don't get a solid stat drive its not worth it right now.
5. Don't worry about blue ray
6. If you don't over-clock much you don't need liquid cooling.
I can build a pc on newegg that beats that for the same price.
What about assembling one yourself it's not hard and it will teach you alot.
