I bought a new computer from DELL about a month ago and I paid about $850 after taxes and shipping. In your opinion, did I get a good deal? Here is what's included:
-Pentium 4, 2.8ghz
-512MB DDR2 SDRAM at 400MHz
-144GB Hard-drive
-Windows XP MCE 2005 with additional software (includes anti-virus)
-17 inch flat panel screen
-DVD Rom drive
-DVD/CD burner
-128MB Intel Graphics Media Accelator 900
-4 different flash card slots
-Basic Color printer
-All the other usual stuff (mouse, keyboard, usb ports, Nic card, etc.)

let me know what you think. Thanks.

is that a dell 4700. i think that would be a good deal. but i got mine reburished and paid $650 for mine with a ati radeon X300 SE and a soundcard and same memory as yours to. but minus the printier and monitor. so i think you got a good deal.

Well what will you be using the computer for?

If you plan on gaming and you have a decent knowledge of computers, you could have saved money and built your own.

But you saved money by getting the monitor from dell.

I bought that machine. The only difference is mine has 80GB hard drive, and no printer. They had a special I guess. I paid $629.00.(Sorry man). Anyways....I sent them an email saying that the E310 on the website had a media card reader in the photo, and I thought it was false advertising.I also told them that media center should come with a remote control. If you look at Msoft's website it shows the software with a remote. I then proceeded to say that a media center is a media center and it should have a tv tuner with it.I am not a satisfied customer.
They called me and apologized, and ended up sending me a remote and tuner card. I tried to get the card reader ,but they made it difficult. They said I would have to buy it and they would credit me. Its a nice computer, especially coming from a 500mhz pavilion with windows 98.
Customer service tried hard to satify me,but there is a huge communication gap. The tuner card is an ATI TVT2 I think all in wonder. It came without the driver cd.Reconditioned too. When I put it in I'll find out if media center has the drivers, but I saw them on dells site if its the same card. Doesn't hurt to see if you can get the remote and card. Enjoy the machine. I like mine. Quiet anyways compared to the toaster I had. I had to punch the thing to get the fan to quiet down.LOL

that was good of them to send you that stuff. thats about the only thing i like about dell. they put the wrong ram in my computer it was at 333 mhz instead of 400 mhz. so my dad emailed them and they gave me $100 to spend at the site so i helped buy my dads laptop.

its only a SEMI good deal just cause it came w/ a moniter.
Yeak, I didn't think it was fantastic or anything. With the new pentium D's and all the new stuff coming out they should give the stuff away.
