Hi...how does this laptop look? My price range is about 1200-1250 and I want a laptop that can run my school applications as well as all of my games. This looks good ot me but you guys may have a better idea. The only upgrade I would make is the hardrive up to 100 GB. I possibly might upgrade the memory to 2gig instead of 1. I was also thinking about using Windows XP instead of Windows Vista, ive heard from a few people that Vista is not as good as XP. Can you guys give me some opinions? Thanks.

Yeah Looks Good.
I used a laptop with vista home premium.
I had 2gb ram and c2d 2.0ghz cpu it ran great. Its you own preference.

It looks good to me. I like Vista better than XP and I haven't had any software compatibility issues. I'm not a gamer but from what I've heard you might want 2GB of RAM. Another option would be a Dell XPS M1210. I've never used an XPS but I do use a Dell Inspiron E1505 and it's great. Dell has great customer service too. The XPS is a gaming laptop so it is quite fast (upgradeable to up to 4GB of RAM) and it costs $1199. It's hard to find a PC with XP these days.

Look at Dells outlet store for an XPS1210 with a go7400 (Nvidia) that is prettymuch the best small formfactor laptop around.

Ok, whats your brilliant idea, it was my opinion. Anyhow if you want more power for that budget look at the inspiron e1705 with 7900gs go, or the HP with 7600 go (Im not big fan of HP, and they are overpriced for what you get, but meh to each their own...)
