So, I got a friend who is interested in this laptop: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/lenovo-...lack/4456600.p?id=1219749485996&skuId=4456600

They dont do anything too heavy, they do some video editing, play some games (minecraft is one of them idk if they even play another games), schoolwork and skype. Pretty casual use.

I mean, the 4gb ram seems good enough. and is 500 gb of hdd alot? idk what the standards are. She has a intel HD graphics card and correct me if im wrong please but the laptop has only one USB port and NO disk drive right?

I'd trade in the tablet esque functionality for better specs. Are they pretty much dead set on a touchscreen?

4 GB is a little low on the RAM side these days, but for a budget/casual browsing/skype machine it should be 'okay'.

Beers you help me so much youre my hero I love you

dont think shes dead set on it but as an artist she might like it. and you think you could trade the touch screen for better specs? and really is it just me or is there NO disk drive?

Some laptops don't have disc drives these days.

I'd try to get something higher-end with at least a Pentium. Celerons are slow.

Also, a touch screen for an artist? I used to do a lot of digital illustration and it's a pen you want for drawing and that kind of stuff, not a touchscreen on its own. If you want a pen you need to get something like a Surface Pro (like I use) but that's likely outside of her budget and requirements.

I think you should look for something with a stronger CPU and don't worry about the touchscreen.
