Is this a good monitor for a gaming build?

Hey. I was wondering if this is a good monitor for my first gaming build.

If not, can you suggest something that is better?

Also, can you explain to me what 250 cd/m2 means? I know it's a measure of brightness, but I'm not sure what the 250 means.

Is the 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio really necessary? Does it make that much of a difference, or is it overkill?

Yes this is a good gaming monitor as it is 2ms response time 1920x1080 True High Definition display. I wouldn't rate the speakers but you can turn them off just depends how much you want to spend on a good monitor i suppose.

It's really a 16:9 tv, rather than a true 16:10 monitor (explains the speakers, as well), and if you can't make it to the store to see it for yourself (which i strongly recommend,) i would rely on reviews/comparisons rather than specs.

Truth be told, not much seperates cheap & high-end monitors/tvs these days, but there are still some stinkers thrown in the mix, so i would strongly advise finding somewhere to see a potential monitor/tv for yourself.
