Is this a good monitor?

I'm just looking for a cheap monitor that provides 1080p for a little gaming, video editing, etc. The picture doesn't have to be AMAZING but I do want it to look good. This is what I found:

I like how you can buy a 2 year warranty for only $20 bucks. I like warranties on monitors since I use them a lot and they fail a lot. Let me know if you guys find anything I didn't see.

OH, also it has only a DVI input which is fine because I think my motherboard has a DVI output but someone said it wasn't good for gaming... I thought the only difference between DVI and HDMI was the audio...

is that some kind of a joke? I have a 5ms 23 inch full hd 1920 by 1080 1080p res monitor and it couldnt be better for gaming. You will see no difference between 5ms and 2ms at all. get that monitor because having a 2ms response time is not worth the money

Actually i dont see the joke here. I'm not saying that you cant game on it, i'm just saying that 2ms is better than 5ms for gaming. Actually the 5ms and the 2ms monitors you can find them at the same price. Usually for fast actions in games it's recommended 2ms because the quality is better. You can also play on 5ms but most people are looking at 2ms for gaming.

ummm there is no difference so what does it matter? 3 MILLISECONDS!!! it takes longer to blink. 2ms is not necessary at all
 
Okay besides the whole 5ms 2ms thing there is also another problem I have. All the monitors with full HD have a 16:9 ratio... widescreen... do games support widescreen? I heard that it stretches the games out. The game I am most concerned about is what my brother plays (The Sims 3). That's basically the only game that will be played on this new monitor I want to get. I may do some online gaming stuff to. All the monitors I see are super widescreen... what do you guys have and what kind of experience do you guys have with gaming on widescreen LCDs?

You should not have any problems with that. I play many games and so far i never experienced a problem with that. I'm also on 16:9 ratio wide screen.
 
5ms is perfect for gaming, no ghosting will be caused off 5ms im nearly 100% sure

i am using a 2ms monitor but i was using a 5ms before.......
 
It's an inch smaller than my old 720p HDTV! And a thousand times better quality! Yet I payed $500 for the tv and I'm going to pay $180 for this... wow.

I used to game on a 12 ms response time and it worked just fine I did not have any problems. So I am sure that a 5 ms response time will be just fine.

Thats a very nice monitor I had a 24'' dell monitor that was full HD and it had an amazing picture quality.
 
A larger response time means yo get a little blurring, some people like that for some reason. I know that on my old 15" lcd screen had a 25ms response time and it was kind ablurry during fast movement.

I never saw any blurring with my monitor so I don't think it really matters if its 12 ms or under anything higher than that may be a problem though.
