Is this a good PSU?

Not really, if i were you i would get that ultra that you saw earlier, it'll be able to power even a 8800gts

The minimum to run a 8800gts is like 500w and 30amps, so yea it should do it fine

Thanks, $50 sounds good to me. I figured i would have to dish out around $100 :o
Any other suggestions? im open, could be a month or a week before i buy a new one. Opinions never hurt :P

Possible to get a good one for >$80?
Yes, you can get plenty of good PSUs for over $80 :D

im not familiar with "Ultra" is is a good name brand? Thanks.
The newer Ultras are much much better than the Ultra ones. As the name implies, this is the budget series, but still quite good. Very difficult to beat for the money.

Ya, so even though it has one 12v rail it would be sufficient?
I actually consider a single rail to be an advantage - no distribution issues. It's quite sufficient for your system.

Any other suggestions? im open, could be a month or a week before i buy a new one.
Keep in mind that the link you're using includes an instant discount. I have no information on how long that discount will remain.

what would be some other options?
  • Enhance 5150GH (very high quality, efficient unit for the money)
  • Silverstone ST50EF-Plus (further 8% discount through http://www.jonnyguru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1079) (actually the same internals as the Enhance above, but includes additional SATA cables, sleeved cables, and a 3 year as opposed to 1 year warranty)
  • Corsair HX520W ($9.99 over your intended price and requires a $10 rebate, but offers free shipping. Significantly more power and higher quality than anything else mentioned so far. Right on the pricepoint if you're a first time Google Checkout user :)).

Beat me to it :)
