EVGA GTX280 1GB gddr3 512bit

I am most likely going to buy this for sub $700. I don't know much about computer, but I know how to use them. What I'm wondering is will the run games like battlefield3 and ARMA2/ARMA3 when it come out on at least medium settings? Please respond quickly!!!
Thank you for your time.

P.S. first gaming desktop and Alienware product.:)

Kind of outdated graphics card (But not bad), little dual core, old RAM, and a terrible power supply. You could do a lot better for $700.

at those specs I wouldn't pay over 200. And that is solely because of the graphics card. everything else there is plain crap these days.

Ok. I was going to trade my ps3 for it, but I'm not sure now. Just wondering what would the cost be to upgrade it to run better?

you would need a new CPU. That is a dead socket, so it will cost you out the rump. On top of that it needs a new PSU and could do with some more RAM, but that would be expensive.

You would be better off building a new one if gaming is your intent.

the first one would be better gaming, but I would change the power supple. Roswell is not the greatest brands. Its actually one of the worst out there.

I doubt very seriously that it would play it on high. BF3 is a very demanding game. It recommends a 6870 or 460. the 5770 is below that by a good bit.

He said he was willing to show me it on high, but i would be happy with medium.

Price wise is it good? $295

the first one would still be a better gaming computer. Either way I doubt you will get high on either setup at an acceptable frame rate.

should be able to max it. It recommends a dual core and 8800gt. Its got a quad core and 2x 9800GTX+ (same as the 250). So you should be able to blow it away at max settings.
