Okay, I don't know if I'm missing something. Is a Lightscribe CD supposed to be able to be read upside-down?

I was going to lightscribe something on a disc and when I flipped and closed the tray, the CD's autorun started loading.

I bet it's something obvious and I'll just look dumb LOL

Yeah, I did that and when I closed the tray, the disk was perfectly readable, the autorun started loading.

thats interesting............TFT is right though. I have light scribe. then again i was not impressed. You would think that with all the technology today you could burn in color. only thing i see is labels.

OK I'll look dumb with you :P
As there's only one laser I can't understand why or how it could autorun and read the disc as the tracks are on the opposite side

so it started to read something on the label side that's um weird it shouldn't though

and honestly to make a CD or DVD that is able to etch in colour would be hard and cost heaps to manufacture

wtf? it shouldn't autoplay with the disk upside down, have you tried another disk to see if it still does it?

On my wife's laptop it did the same thing, was able to detect it was a lightscribe disc and loaded the label burning software.

That's it !!
It knows there is no data there so it's pre programmed to start the etching software, or if it's not been associated with the software yet then the autoplay will start.

Maybe ....... :P
