Is the Intel Xeon processor only for servers or could one imagine putting it for personal use in a desktop computer...

You can use it for yourself but its not feasible and expensive (and not horribly useful in small implementations, for small implementations, an Opteron setup would be better). Any particular reason you want/need Xeons? :)

Why?

Just wondering.. Since Xeons are the newest processors, just wanted to know (cause me, like many others, would like the best, but can't always afford it :D )... Does this apply to the Itaniums (if they're only for servers)??

Xeons are not "new" .. they've been around since the Pentium II. Its just the server model of the normal chip with the same name (i.e., ECC/buffered/registered memory etc)
