Is this possible?

I may be getting a new GPU soon, so I wanted to give my old one to my friend.

However, I just wanted to know if I could take his current pc and put it into my old case(or any other case like the 300r because I lost a lot of the screws,) and then give him my old 700w power supply or buy him a new one.

It may fit but you may have problems attaching the front panel connections. OEMS usually use a proprietary connection for front panel.

and be careful with the power button... I tried to use a power button off an old dell on a gateway motherboard, it worked fine, until I actually pressed the power button (it was set to turn on when plugged in, so I didn't discover this until later) and it did nothing, but I smelled something burning, and noticed it had burnt the circuit board on the power button... the mobo was fine though...

They had the exact same pin setup with one hole missing, so I just assumed it must have been the same... I guess the fact the the power light on the board was barley lit would have been a good indicator...

Of course these boards were both about 10 years old, they are probably a bit more universal now....
