Is this PSU reliable?

I was browsing around ebay and found this, since my psu is only of 250w, I want one of better power to make a radeon 6850 graphics card work. But after showing this to a friend of mine he said I should not buy it because he has never heard of the manufacturer and it's way too cheap. He said his psu of 650w costs around 100 dollars.

Should I get it?

Simply put no. In fact, its awful. Its actually probobly only outputting 550 watts, and if you put that awful rubbish in your pc, it will most likly blow up other parts in your pc.

^ This is a great one. Comes to $50 after rebate, and it would be very reliable.

synnchan, that's a crap PSU. They sell them here in the UK too. Reading some reviews on Dabs about them, quite a lot have failed.

The power supply byteninja linked you to is much better and it should power a 6850 fine. You can get the CX 600 if you want, it's not much more.

Oh, and that psu would not power a 6850 anyways, as a 6850requires 2 pcie power connecters I believe, and the alpine only has one. The corsair has enough.

The 6850 only requires 1x PCIe connector doesn't it? A 6870 requires two though. Anyway, don't get that Alpine unit.
