I was looking at this chip, the first thing they mention is that it is eco-responsible and can "save me millions" on power costs.

Is it suitable for a home PC (used for gaming)? Is it any good?

i would not get that. just get an AMD for gaming

SPARC processors are marketed to large companies with big (often multiprocessor) servers. They are great for that application, however they are not Win compatible and not good for gaming. As ckfordy suggests, get yourself an AMD Athlon processor and you can't go wrong.
