Okay. You guys seem knowledgeable on this subject. I, on the other hand, am noobish, so I would appreciate some help.

I plan to get an X-Fi audigy card from Amazon (for about £15) too, and a copy of Vista Home Premium (for about £60).

Is there any components I should ditch or replace from the above? I was going to get a 8800GTX instead of the 9800GTX originally, but I figured there was no point seeing as how the 9800GTX was only about a tenner more expensive.

Is there any component I've missed out - e.g. will I need to buy a wireless card (if so: any recommendations)?

looks ok but get a ASUS or LG dvd drive.

an what is that compute going to be used for? if it is going to be a gaming computer get the E8400 instead of the Q6600
 
no thats great you dont need to change a thing samsungs a good brand and a Q6600 is better for future gaming which is the only reason someone would build a computer that good
 
Yeah, the computer will be used for pretty much everything: uni work, internets, etc. But I especially want something that can handle gaming too.
 
You only need a wireless card if you plan on connecting to wireless networks.

So you should know if you need one.

Yeah daisy, but at that price, it might be worth it, even if for no other reason than to crank out a few extra fps from the graf card.

I already have a decent external soundcard anyways, for recording and stuff like that (Edirol FA-101).
