Im having trouble with a computer I bought off the internet. On my old computer I could get about 15-40 fps on a game I had, now on this new computer I have I can only get 15 fps if im lucky. Anyone have any ideas whats wrong with my computer?

Windows xp (sp2) 1.3 GHz, 224 mb RAM. It also runs rly slowly at times, and sometimes on the desktop things disappear and are invisible or black.

Im not using norton, and its like that with all games. But the game im specifically talking about is counter strike 1.6. Its a really old game so it should run on max settings fine. But a major problem is the slowness.

ok just to get a bit more information, can you give us specs for both your old and new computer.

I'm already sensing a problem in that you state you have 224 mb ram. This suggests to me that you have 32mb integrated graphics which to be fair is going to struggle with most games.

Did your previous computer have a seprate graphics card or was that integrated too?

Im pretty sure the video card on my old one was intergrated. But its not the video card or the RAM thats the problem. My old computer had a 466 MHZ processor with 128 mb RAM and a 4 bit video card. Yet I got 15-40 fps. I have one question though, what does it mean if a computer is used for demoing?

O, and the specs for the new computer are: 1.3 GHz, 224 mb RAM, windows xp (sp2) and a 32 bit video card. And yes its intergrated, but so was my old one.

if a computer as used for demoing it was set up and played by people.. think the wii's/360's set up in your local gamestop. and about your problem.. i got nothing, sorry.
