I need something to support my 5.1 surround sound system and blu-ray drive. Is this going to be everything I need or is it too much(or too little)? I don't really understand what it means by "Integrated HD audio controller with multi-channel (5.1) AC3 support". Will I be able to hook up my speaker system directly to this video card?

Anyway, I guess I need a way to play blu-ray movies with my 5.1 surround sound in vista x64... or should I just go with a PS3 since I don't pc game?
 
The video card will display Blue-Ray (with a compatible monitor) but will not play the sound.
Your 5.1 sound card does the sound.
If your PC does not have 5.1 sound, then you will need to get a 5.1 sound card.
 
video cards can output hd sound and video with the audio output on the video card which the 3870 has and it comes with the cable needed you just need to plug it into the motherboard or sound card which ever normally does the audio
