i have a amd mobile sempron ( 3000+ 25W 1.8 GHz 128 KB l2 cache)

is worth upgrading to either of theese?

amd mobile sempron (3300+ 25W 2.0 GHz 128 KB l2 cache)
amd mobile sempron (3100+ 25W 1.8 GHz 256 KB l2 cache)

i believe they are socket A

p.s i am using it on a acer aspire 3023wmli

do i have to use a sempron?

ok. is it posible to use any other cpu? so its not worth at all no. even if money is no objective.

Save your money on something else, there would be hardly any performance difference, the best would be the 3100+ w/ 256K L2 cache. The only time i would say go for it is if you got it for free, cause its really not worth spending that much money on it.

i doubt you can use any other cpu, im not entirely sure on what the cache does, but i know that the 256K would be better then the 128K.

They should be socket754 IIRC

no you will not see a performance increase for 300 PR points
Contestable .... normally id agree but even though AMD chips are generally NOT cachebound, 128K of L2 *is* on the very low side of things (think classic Celeron)

In a notebook environment you can use pretty much any S754 chip (depending on the cooling capacity of the case and the size of the chassis, you may or may not have options for certain chips)

Caching is like ram for the processor.
