Isn't accepting a mini dvd's existence!

I know I'm new and stupid with computers, but please don't bust out laughing at me if I'm asking a very stupid question. I have an HP Pavilion with a "tsstcorp cdw/dvd ts-h492a"...I suppose that's the overly fancy name they gave my specific cdw/dvd drive. I have recorded a mini DVD and finalized it and placed it into my drive, but when I attempt to even view the files on the disk the computer acts as if the disk does not even exist. Does anyone know what's going on? Please help me, and thank you in advance if you do.

What software did you use? Have you tried any other programs? I use Deep Burner for basically all my burning needs and it's never acted up. Give it a shot, the free version's just a few MB's. If you have similar problems, then it's probably the drive. If it works, it's probably software related.

I'm not even trying to burn a DVD, I just want my computer to know it's there so that I can pull the video I recorded onto it from the DVD onto my computer. I'm not bothering with worrying about burning yet, I just want to transfer info from the disk to the computer. I've been scouring the manual and the net for over three hours now, and I haven't found anything.
