I'm trying to install DSLinux on to an old machine. 100mhz pentium processor, 32 MB RAM.

as soon as it begins to boot from the CD ROM, I get this message:

ISOLINUX 2.04 (Debian, 2003-06-06) isolinux: Loading spec packet failed, trying to wing it
...
isolinux: Failed to locate CD-ROM device; boot failed.

what does this mean, and how do I fix it?

I've used this CD and CD ROM drive before on a different computer to install linux, so I dont think the problem is with the CD or the drive.

Probably its just a bad burn.Often linux iso's should be burned at the slowest speed.

ended up that the computer doesnt fully support booting from a CD rom drive, even though the bios gives you that option. I ended up using Smart Boot Manager to boot the CD.
