Issue with desktop PC

Hi there, I have a desktop with Windows 7 64 bit on it. I had to think for a while to figure out what to ask about it. I installed a few windows updates that were optional including a .net framework one, and after my computer was totally bombed. Slow as a sloth, half the programs won't open and the antivirus was just shut off and wouldn't scan when I clicked scan. So I think I know why it's bummed out like that, but just speculation. I have two versions of windows and as it was restarting to do the update I forgot to select the right windows and it automatically loaded the wrong one. Then I cold rebooted, and the POST screen hung for a long time so I thought maybe I should go into BIOS so I soft rebooted and went into BIOS. Everything was fine so I let it boot and selected the proper windows. So dumb of me to do that on an update restart but I haven't used this computer in a while. So basically I think that the update messed up and that's what is wrong. So my question is would that be it? Maybe my SSD is failing? I doubt it though because it was working well before the update. Anyways if that is wrong how do I fix it without reinstalling windows? Thanks all.

Are you able to get into safe mode?

You can try to system restore to before the update that is causing your problem in safe mode and see if the problem continues.

ok thanks. I'm able to do simple things so I could probably just go into system restore if not go into msconfig and safe mode it
