Issue with DirectX and SWAT 3

Does anyone know what could be wrong? I go to start the game and I get this

"DirectX DDERR_GENERIC"

Anyone know what this means and how it can be fixed? I have 32bit version of Vista. Thanks!

Yeah other games are fine. I have ran this fine on other machines without installing any patches. I gives me this message right before the intro video. So for some reason it cannot play that.

i would go on there official site and see if there is a forum with other people having the same problem, also go to run and type dxdiag then push return this will give you information about the direct x you are running and a few tests you can perform to make sure its working ok.
