Issues OCing my E6400

I have some issues OCing my E6400. It will not go past 2.4ghz. My current mobo is an ASUS P5K SE, and I have 2 gigs of Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800. Anyways, I have tried getting over 2.4, but my computer will not boot. It just restarts. So I decided to try upping the voltage a little bit (and this is all with the help of my friend who OCs everything og his) and it still wouldnt go. But on my last mobo, my processor wouldnt go over 2.4ghz either. Anyone have an idea why? And should I even have to increase voltage after 270mhz?

Odd, I had no issues. Describe in a little better detail what it is you are doing and what options you have altered and I may be able to help more..

Ok, I went in to the BIOS and set it to 300. Since the multiplier is 8, 300x8 is 2400. SO that should be 2.4ghz. That works fine. But if I set it to 301, my computer wont boot. Anything higher than 300 causes my computer to restart every 10 seconds, and it doesnt even make it to the Windows loading screen. I tried upping the voltage, and it did nothing. The odd thing is, on my last mobo I could never get this processor above 2.4ghz either. Maybe it's an issue with the CPU itself?

So I set the voltage to 1.35v, lowered the ram speed to 738mhz, and set the CPU to 2.46ghz. And it works. So for some reason my ram being at 800mhz was causing my cpu to not go above 2.4ghz.

I set the clock to 2.8ghz (after going up a little bit here and a little bit there) and the ram is at something like 820mhz or something. 1.35v. Prime95 stable at 2.8. Only gained 3* C too. So I may try for 3.0ghz soon. I want a new cooler first though.
