issues using SSD for storing OS - Assistance Required

i have recently completed a new build and i am using a 120gb SSD and a 1tb HDD. iv put my OS on the SSD and wanted to store everything else on my HDD.

iv now noticed that my program files and a few other bits are stored on the SSD when i don't want them too.

am i right in thinking i should have set this up when i first installed my OS?

because i haven't done this, the only way i can do it is by wiping everything and starting again?

Cheers Dave

Certain programs will (should) be there. Anything you install will want to go there by default - you have to manually change the install location during the installation process. If it's bothering you, you can simply uninstall the specific programs and reinstall them, this time choosing the 1TB drive.

Almost all programs default to installing on the C: drive but allow you to override that. Typically, you need to select "custom" install which then gives you the ability to input the install location.

that's what i thought. so to change where my files save il have to start from the beginning again?

Are you now asking about where your data files are saved? You can decide that each time you save, typically you need to use Save As... instead of Save.

If you're talking about what drive your programs are installed to then yes, you need to un-install then and re-install to put them on another drive.
