It happens when I shut it down.

I replaced my video card today. My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
I removed an ATI Radeon HD 5450 and installed a PNY GeForce GTS 450.
I removed Catalyst Control Center from REMOVE PROGRAMS. Then I used Driver Sweeper 2.9.0 to remove the rest of the ATI/AMD stuff.
I installed the latest drivers from the GeForce site.
I lose my video drivers when I shut the computer down. I can RESTART the computer and the drivers come back. I don't lose my drivers when I restart the computer.
When I say "I lose my drivers", I mean I get a lower resolution and get those horizontal lines across my monitor.
I also tried to install display drivers in device manager for the GTS 450. That didn't help. After that I installed the latest drivers from the GeForce site but I still have the problem when I shut the computer down.
During the problem, when I look at DISPLAY ADAPTERS in device manager I see [Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)]
Any ideas?
Thanks again for all the help I've received on this forum,
Rob

Drive sweeper has a problem deleting video card drivers, even when updating your video card drivers you should only remove from add/remove programs and device manager itself. What you should to do now is system restore back to before where you started removing the drivers and only use windows programs to remove and then add in your new video card and drivers.

P.S put the Ati card back in before you system restore

Thank you Hsv Man,
I did create a restore point before I installed the card.
Should I shut down, remove the GeForce GTS 450 card, install the ATI Radeon HD card, start up, let Windows find NEW HARDWARE, use SYSTEM RESTORE, then REMOVE PROGRAM the CCC drivers?
How should I work in DEVICE MANAGER? Should I UNINSTALL the DISPLAY ADAPTER, then shut down and install the new GTS 450 video card? Then install the latest drivers for the GTS 450 after Windows finds NEW HARDWARE?
How do you do yours?
I appreciate your help.
Thanks again,
Rob

Yes mate shutdown put the ati card back in start up and restore back to before you started uninstalling the drivers. This same thing happend to a friend who was installing an updated driver for his ati 4890.
