Hello, I have posted several times about a laptop that had cranberry juice spilled on it about a week ago. I have SLOWLY been making progress, but still, I have been making progress..
In the beginning I was at a total loss, it did not even try to start but it would still light up when you plugged it in to the wall. (This is all after days of sitting in rice) I decided to take it apart and clean the components with rubbing alcohol. After that it would try to start, sometimes. When it did start it did one of two things: the power light would turn on, nothing else, or it would actually start up. It never really went anywhere though.
I noticed that the hard drive made awful noises. I decided to look at it. Unfortunately one of the screws holding it in is stripped so I could not get it out. When I tried to turn it back on, nothing happened. No lights, wouldn't even show it was charging.. it was a brick.
Yesterday I decided to scrub all the components again with rubbing alcohol. (Grasping at straws) Earlier I put it back together, and it started right up! It went all the way to the loading windows page.. then got stuck. I restarted it, it couldn't get past the Inspiron loading page, I restarted it.. same thing. Now every time I restart it it brings me to this:

Intel UNDI, PXE-2.0 (build 083)
Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation

For Atheros PCIE Ethernet Controller v2.0.2(02/08/10)

Check cable connection!
PXE-MOF: Exiting Intel PXE ROM.
Operating System not found

What does this mean? Any help would be appreciated.

Go into the BIOS and disable LAN boot, and see if the hard drive is detected. Set hard drive as first boot device.

Really can't give you step by step as not all dells have the same bios setup. To enter bios you most likely need to press either the f2 or del button. Then look for boot priority and make sure hdd is set for first device, disable the lan/network boot.

Alright. (: Thanks! Yeah, kinda new to PC repair, haha. I will continue playing with it in the morning. Thanks again.
