Hi

For the past year or so my internet will randomly "stop connecting to the DNS server, in other words i can not connect to the iternet. I then proceed:
1. pulling the power plugs out of modem and router
2. rebooting my computer
3. puting the modem power plug in and waiting for it to receive packets
4. puting the router power plug in
5. i then pray that my internet connects

Do I have a virus or a bad network card? My iternet is not wireless and but i do connect through a router. My laptop never has this problem. So by process of elimination I'm guessing its a problem with my desktop not my modem or router.

Please help me.

Thanks

well if your laptop never has the problem then you are probably right, its most likely an issue with your desktop. is your laptop wired or wireless? if it is wireless it could be the wired ports of the router.

I thought it may have just been a problem with the wired ports of my router...but the same problem happens if I take the router out of the equation and just use the modem.
