Its not at full speed is it?

Not quite no, is that an A64 system? Some A64s cannot run ram at the advertised speed because of the integrated memory controller and having an odd multiplier. Running the RAM at that speed doesn't have a big impact on performance though.

ya i am.

there is option for me to over clock the cpu with fsb so if i bump up the fsb, i don't have to worry about the RAM as long as it is not over the advertised speed right? or is it different for the intel system and amd system?

thank you Cromewell

Right, as long as the RAM stays below the advertised speed you know it's ok. Of course in your case that's not a lot of OC room :)

ya. i have the amd x2 3600+ at 1.9 ghz, and it is planty fast for a media center. i will over clock it some years down the road.

Now if only i can get my E6600 fully working. almost finished though.

I have mines over the advertised speed

I dunno if thats consider as over the advertised speed. stock timing is 4-4-4-12 i made a little change to that.

You can run RAM faster than the manufacturer says it will run, all I mean is you know the RAM isn't the limiting factor until you pass the speed it's been tested to run at. After that point there are more variables you have to adjust if you are hitting an OC limit.
