Hi Guys,

I'm not sure if this is the correct section for this thread but if not can a mod please move it!

I've just baught a new Ipod Classic 80GB, Is there anyway to set up the Ipod so that I can use it as a Drive itself my computer hard drive is only 120GB itself and lets say I do manage to fill 80GB of Music and Video's which would be hard but Imagine as It would effect my system!

At the moment my Ipod is set up so that when I plug it in it will Sync all the new songs I have in my Itunes, Could I have it so that I don't need to store the files on my computer, So I will need to plug the Ipod in to listen to songs and I can put new songs on it from there?

If so how do I do this?

Thanks,

When you plug in your iPod and open iTunes, the iPod screen should show up (Gives software info, restore option, space, etc). Un-check the "Sync Music" box and check "Manually Manage Music". I am unsure as to whether you can use the new iPods as a disk (I imagine you still can). Just check the "Enable Disk Use" box. Then you can just drag-and-drop the files you want to store on the iPod in the drive window in Explorer.

After all the music you want is on the iPod, you COULD delete the music files from your computer, but I'd get an external hard drive and put it on there, or get a few (hundred) CD's and back them up.
