I've got no PCMIC slot !

My laptop PB L4014 has a blank plate where you would normally find a pcmic slot. I removed the plate but there is just a void inside, no slot or connections.
If I take my laptop to a pc builder would they be able to add a slot so I can add a firewire card to capture DV from a digital camcorder?

It's PCMCIA or PC-Card :P

As for the problem, I'm afraid you're out of luck. Even if someone could add the connection, your motherboard just isn't made for it. You're missing more than just the connector, probably other chips and what not on the motherboard, and probably a different bios.
