I've hit a roadblock GPU shopping

Hi, I'm not much of a shopper when it comes to computer parts and rarely know whats what except that slots fit specific slots and the "more expensive the more better" reasoning when I purchase so I'm here to ask for a little help :). So here I am on the newegg website and im going through the browsing options to narrow it down and I hit Pixelpipelines, Memory Size, Memory Interface, Memory type, Core Clock. Oh, brother this sure is making my head spin because some have high memory type like gddr3 but the number sides them seem low like 512 mb and some have gddr2 but has numbers like 2gb. I don't know which is which and would appricated if anyone out there can make some sense of it all.

Don't make it too hard on yourself. I remember the graphics card being toughest decision on my first build too ( just a few weeks ago )
