Im ready to run. I have to computers upstairs. one is mine and other is grand children etc. the cable run in the basement is 84' ft. two computers. It looks like im buying on line. i see cat 5, cat5e cat6. Im willing to buy what i need. i was looking at amazon. want to know which one and where. Im guessing i will and should buy two runs of cable like cat5.

Don't know if i wanted to to do it but share a connection. is it possible to run one cable and use a hub to share two computers? just a question. if im being cheap say it. Whats your thought on both questions.

thanks

You can run one line upstairs with it being hooked up to your router downstairs, then buy a switch and put it upstairs which allows you to hook up more internet devices via ethernet cable or buy a wireless router and extend your wireless capability.

Edit, you would want to use cat 5E or Cat 6

Ok. I will look for 5 or 6. Looks like a (2) 100 ft and be done with it. I checked newegg not much luck. Maybe radio shack like mentioned and be done with it.

i will look today though for price now. i find it hard to believe a can get a quality cat5 100' for $10.00. or is it same with link above.
