Hello people,

I cant seem to install Java Runtime after i have clean reinstaled windows xp.

I getting this message...

java.jpg

Ive also tried older versions and the same problem:confused:

The page for manual downloads is found at http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp Once the download is complete it is in a folder on the drive. Note that the second not first download button there is for "offline installation". The first is like the link posted earlier for the latest updated version. The remaining are for Solaris and Linux.

ahh thanks people,

I downloaded the offline instalilation and it instaled fine.

It must have been my firewall which im using (Ashampoo FireWall) however i never got a pop up asking if i would allow it to access:confused:

Anyway all fine now.

Thanks:P

The best firewall I've run across lately that does not impede normal downloads, updates, and other installations while prompting you to allow or deny is found in Spyware Terminator. I just reinstalled java with the online version seeing no problem except a promt to allow or deny. This is one reason why I previously mentioned temporarily disabling any firewall or antivirus program that could be impeding you there.

Save the link in your favorites! When you right click on any there you can rename them for a shorter but specific content. To spot the one you are looking for and to save time use upper case lettering. You would need a separate drive to store the ones accumilating here! :P (hhmm maybe that's why I keep a second HD in the case? naaa... just the other XP)
