Now that my military career is starting off, I decided to make a budget build.

Case comes w/ PSU will try it out, if not i'll get my own, and also cheapest ram in its price with a low latency, GFX card is hopefully not to powerful for the GFX
 
If you're going to have that 7850, it'd be better go go with an FX CPU and an AM3+ board.

I wouldn't use the power supply the case comes with to power your 7850. Instead I'd get something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139028 600W is plenty.

Also not a great fan of the case you've chosen. I'd get this instead http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811235033 it's not much more but it's a much better case.

Overall it's more expensive but worth it. :)

If need be you can stick with your original motherboard and CPU choice (but get this board instead http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128577 I'm not a Biostar fan) but make sure you change the power supply, case and RAM.

Spirit is right. Don't skimp on the PSU, it's a very important unit.
An FX/7850 system might be able to run on a CX500, but if the budget allows it, go CX600.
And he's also correct about Gigabyte (and ASUS + MSI) > Biostar + pretty much anything else.
 
I had already ordered the parts and i'm done building the set up, but turns out you guys were right about the PSU. I have to order a new PSU simply because the motherboard has a 24 pin connector and the PSU only comes with a 20 pin.
 
I have recently been looking at the FM2 socket with quite an interest.


Total price without a Windows copy (around $85): $549

Reasons I think this is a solid build:
The Fractal Design case offers USB3, good airflow, quiet operation and small form factor - while offering great cable management if you're not using an optical disk drive.
The AMD Athlon is a quad core CPU, offering great performance in quad enabled applications, at a very low price point. It's also unlocked just the same way as a 2500k/3570k/4670k, making it easy to overclock. Similar priced CPUs from a different socket are: Intel G870 3.1GHz dual core ($90, LGA1155) and AMD FX-4100 3.6GHz quad core ($100, AM3+)
The motherboard is extremely good value for money, offering the best FM2 chipset available, meaning better overclocking, more USB and SATA and such.
Kingston memory is generally very good, these are on sale. Good deal.
Your GPU choice is spot on, could find a better price/performance card in that price range.
Good quality PSU that's modular, used for maintaining great airflow in the small case.

Throw in the Windows at around $85 and perhaps a new CPU cooler, such as the Coolermaster Hyper TX3: $15 (save 44% right now) for that extra silent operation, while being able to overclock a little a bit, add ~$10 shipping and the total will probably be around $659.

after I made this post. Well, I'll save this build in case anyone comes around and needs a $650 build ^^
