Junk loaded onto a new computer.

On Monday I hope to collect my new Acer Aspire 5742 computer. It has an i5 processor, 4Gb RAM and Windows 7 Home Premium - 64 bit.

I have read quite a few reviews and nearly all of then complain about the unnecessary programs preloaded onto the computer.

The computer (I believe) comes with OS, drivers and other programs preloaded onto a hidden partition which will mean that I do not get separate Windows 7 discs.

What is the best way to get completely rid of these unwanted programs?

If I just delete them I cannot be sure that everything has been removed.

Can I use the hidden partition to reload just a selective content or would I have to take it all.

I do have a separate DVD for Windows & which I could use but this is only 32 bit whereas the laptop has 4 GB ram which is better utilised with the preloaded 64 bit version.

You can uninstall them just fine. I would do a file search for them just be sure that gets rid of them. You can order recovery disks from acer. they usually dont charge much. The partition is like a back up. it'll set windows back to day you got it, all drivers and bloatware included
