Just a simple question

I have a 4 pin molex connector and the sata connector from my PSU plugged into my HDD, is this bad? Which one should I have plugged in?

Thanks

I'd imagine it will only draw from one or the other so it shouldn't hurt anything, but you shouldn't have both plugged in. You only need one or the other.

Yeah..........something with a slight over voltage could damage it. Voltages do move up and down frequently, I would just use the SATA.

My A+ Exam Guide says that it could damage the drive...
I was always told this as well but since then I've seen so many people say they've had both plugged in for some period of time and there have been no ill-effects. Still, it's best/safest to only have 1 plugged in.

Thanks guys, I took the 4 pin molex out and I'm just using the SATA one, I may work on some cable managment now :P
