Just bought my new Gaming PC, which game should I get to break it in?

My new PC build is on it's way from Newegg. My last PC was very lacking, and so the last game I purchased was Battlefield 2142 last year. My new computer will have an 8800GT, so I can get anything.

The games I own are Battlefield 2142, CounterStrike, HL2, Oblivion, and a few others. I like online multiplayers, but I also like single player games.

Please give me some recommendations, I have been out of the gaming scene for a little while and a lot of new games were released.
 
Singleplayer:
* Bioshock (awesome graphics, great story, eerie atmosphere lol)
* F.E.A.R. if you haven't played it yet.

Multiplayer:
* Unreal Tournament III. Fast paced shooter, gonna buy this next!
 
depends, what sort of games do you like?

Bioshock and Rainbow Six Vegas are really nice first person shooters (with pretty amazing grafics too)
Crysis is really nice too, and as mentionned CoD4 (tough, I didnt like the demo too much, the 'heroic' feeling of the older CoD games just wasnt there, It felt like 'just another shooter' )

anyways, those are all shooters, if you're looking for a racing game, I can only reccoment Collin McRae: Dirt.

Youre recommending UT3 without playing it?

Its not all its cracked up to be, only decent.
 
Well, I just got Crysis today. I figured if I'm going to get an 8800GT, I have to get Crysis... They were meant to be together. I think I may download Team Fortress 2 when I get my computer. Bioshock may come a little later. I cannot really get into RPG's while I'm in school, my Calc grades will suffer.
 
haha TF2 is really fun aswell. It's not as popular or a high end game but counter strike source is a really fun game to play
 
Hey why don't you try get Starcraft, if your lucky you might be able to run the expansion BroodWars too. lol!!!

The listed games are pretty much the "now" games:
Crysis
CoD4
UT3
Gears of War is pretty cool too
Bioshock
CM: Dirt
NFS: Prostreet
Flight Sim X on Ultra high
Jericho (Should have some toilet paper ready, for the mess in your pants)
 
These are the system requirements for simfarm:

486 or above
Win 3.1
8MB RAM
2X CD-ROM
SVGA
Sound card

Do you think I can play it on at least medium settings?
