Just got my GTS 250! GPU temp program?

I just got my GeForce GTS 250 :D. This is my first really bad ass graphics card (last one I bought was a GeForce 6800 I think). So I was wondering, is there something I should be wary about these powerfull cards? Where can I download a good GPU temperature program? I'm touching the vent of the card, and its surprisingly hot; not ON FIRE hot, but slightly warm.

Download eVGA Precision. It's an overclocking tool and a fan controller, which not surprisingly monitors your temps too.

EVGA Precision, imo i would set the fan to 100% and just leave it there, its not too loud, cant hear it over the other fans in my case for my 9800gtx(which the gtx 250 is just a renamed 9800gtx+) and it stays pretty cool(~40's idle).

Dangit, intel man beat me to it.

Wa! Awesome XD! The fans spinning so fast, and it got so loud! I can hear it over my case fans, lol, but I don't mind, I just hope my sister doesn't complain. Thanks a lot guys. (Temperatures at 37 C, lol)

Would you recommend OCing if I won't be watercooling? And whats the main thing I should OC? I have the option of OCing the core, shader, and memory.

Also, is there something else I should know about these cards?

I think it should link the clocks for core and shader, it does in Rivatuner.

Anyway if it doesnt, raise all clocks by about 50mhz then go up in small amounts (no more then 10mhz) on each one individually and test in a game like Crysis for artifacting each time. If it artifacts just go back to the last stable clock. Do Core first, then Shader (if the clocks arnt linked) then Memory. Dont do them all at once cos then it takes more time to figure which one is causing it to artifact. Monitor your temps as well while doing it.

If the game crashes or computer restarts dont worry too much. It shouldnt damage the card unless you raised the clocks by some stupid amount. Say you had the core clock at 700mhz then raised it to 710mhz and it crashed i wouldnt worry. Everything will reset and go back to normal. I've done it lots of times and havnt had any problems.

Once you find stable clocks there should be an option to save the profile so you can quickly overclock to it next time you want to. In Rivatuner you can tell it to apply the clocks at startup but I dont know if EVGA Precision has this. I dont usually bother with it though.

Alright, thanks Candy, that was great help.

I went over my motherboard manual because I remembered there was an auxilary power for graphics card. But, this card also has one. I had the auxilary power connector on the GTS 250 connected and the one on the motherboard disconneted a while ago and it ran alright. But I plugged the auxilary power on the motherboard in just in case. Should I have done that? Is it a waste of a molex? Can it potentially fry my new card from too much auxilary power? I'm using a Rosewill 600wat PSU
