Just how many fans can I have?

I don't know too much about cooling so hopefully someone can help me here.

Case fans just plug straight into the power supply, right? Or can some of them go through the mobo instead?

If it helps, I am using a Lian Li PC-K57W case, a corsair 850HX modular power supply, and an ASUS Sabertooth 990FX mobo.

Not counting the fan already built into the PSU, I believe I will have 6 fans. A stock 120mm, a stock 140mm, a Scythe 140mm, a Kingwin 120mm, and 2 Coolermaster 120mm's.

My CPU cooler is a Noctua NH-D14, and I will be using Xfire'd 6950's. Hopefully 6 fans will be more than enough to keep everything cool, and I'll probably go with a negative pressure set up. I guess the things I'm wandering the most is, can my system support this many fans, and are they worth it (or would the actually be a problem, with drawing in too much dust and such)?

Case:
1x 120mm rear fan
1x 120mm front fan
1x 140mm front fan

Noctua:
1x 120mm
1x 140mm

If you like to mod or if you can find an extra clip for that noctua, you can add another 120mm fan

You can connect either to your mobo or power supply. Best to have front fans suck in air and rear fan to remove it from the case.

Are those the numbers of fans you would recommend? Because my case only came with one 120mm rear fan and one 140mm front fan. I bought all of the others seperately.

Also, the noctua will barely even fit into my case as is haha, another fan would be way too big

That's just the amount of fans that I calculated that would go into the case. I know it came with a 120mm and 140mm already. Best bet is to just put in that other 120mm and that's all that should fit in there i believe.

Oh and that noctua is huge haha best to just stick with the 2 fans on there.

Oh! Well thanks. If those are the only ones could fit, I'll just take all the stock fans out. Hopefully I could fit at least 4 fans in there though.
