just installed ubuntu

ok so i just installed the new ubuntu but the resolution i need isnt available. here is the computer i installed it on. http://www.emachines.com/support/product_support.html?cat=Desktops&subcat=T-Series&model=T5224

im not too great with linux so if someone could tell me how to install the correct display drivers i would really appreciate it.

are you using 7.04 ?

yes its 7.04, and its onboard video. its Intel G965/Q963 Express Chipset Family Video Driver

it gives me the correct resolution once i install the drivers on windows xp but not so much on here :-\

Note: It says "Enable the extra repositories in Synaptic." - if you have 7.04 then you shouldn't need to do this.

that looks like it would work, but my resolution is still not listed in there. my resolution is 1280x720 :-\

run this command in terminal and copy past what you get.

sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf
