Just want to get a friends game machine build checked.

A good friend of mine might be getting a new build. He is a huge gamer, and wants a powerful machine. He isnt a billionaire though. Working with me, we got what he wanted, c2d / 2gigs of ram / 320gig hard drive, but its turned out a bit on the expensive side. He wants to keep it under 800, but like that was going to happen. :P

So I come to my good friends at computer forum to see anything that you might change, or if its all good and he can order tonight. :D

Get an Antec PSU instead of Rosewill, the Truepower's I have heard, are pretty decent. Or if you can up the budget go with a Corsair PSU

I havnt dealt with ati, but with the money saved on the power supply, Ill let him take a look at what he thinks.
 
Thats what I figured. A lot of numbers looked the same so I thought I'd better double check. Thought I might be saving the guy some $$$

Nope, they are different cards. What you linked is what I currently have, a 7600gt. (I love it). He is getting a 7900gt, older brother of 7600gt. :)

It finally took your post for me to realize that you guys are talking about a 7"9"00 GT, not a 7"6"00 gt. This is like the third time I've done that. I even got into an argument with a buddy of mine that I was getting the same video card as him, and he kept saying no. I like can't mentally register that stupid 9.

I think I'm just getting dummer with age.

Anyway, good luck with the build. I'm done screwing up you're thread.
