Just wondering how much you guys could save building your own PC

WOW I should realy build my own PCs, soooo much cheaper, if you find the write place to buy components from (ebay seems cheapest lol). Fortunately the setup I got now the shop made a loss on £400 loss hahaha. Because they made an error pricing in the promotional sale. Got this 5 months aggo and they still don't stock computers as good as mine lol.

Or go into business making extreem computers. Say the team is only me (doing site and building them) and I sell top end systems a month, and 4 or 5 lower end. I will be loaded. Can generate revenue up to like 2 or 3k a month, and outgoings will not be high as I could run from home.

sure....not exactly what u really said in your last post. but it is significantly cheaper to build your own pcs compared to buying high end systems. use pricegrabber.com to find good prices for the parts you want and you can build a very nice system for the fraction of a pre built one.

I wouldnt. Why not?
1. No Plextor in the optical drive list
2. Some people might complain about lack of 7800GTX/512 or even lack of ATI parts
3. Raptor drives as solitary option.
4. Only PentiumD? Why not PentiumEE?
5. No power supply option. And the included PSU is garbage
6. From an accessories perspective, a lack of decent controllers
7. UPS and not even one entry from APC?
8. Where are the HSF options?

And the big no-no
9. Lack of motherboard option

What you want and your knowledge, I feel that's the deciding factor if you should build or not...

If you're making a budget computer, Dell's are about as cheap as you can go. If you look around, you can usally find a halfway decent computer from there. Now, if you're all about performance, you definetly need to build as usally the best peripherals aren't avaliable though people such as dell...

Or who you know who has time to build one for you.

There are varying levels of "budget" though. Dell may very well capture the sub $400 market but they certainly lost the sub $1K and id even argue, lost the sub $650 compared to a decent computer assembler
