K-Lite Codec Pack consumes too many resources

I use K-Lite Codec Pack to play videos and other media but ever since I got it, it has been consuming resources from my cpu memory but mostly from the CPU usage, and has raised my CPU temperature 3-5 degrees celcius.

Look below. Its using 97% of Core 1 and all I'm doing is watching tv fom tuner. In the tsk manager its WMPENC. I need to find a better codec that doesnt use as much resources or can someone help me tweak this codec pack

Nah, that ain't K-lite.
K-lite in processes is called MPLAYERC.
thats the name on XP and thats the name on Vista.

WPPENC is windows media player encoder, probably associated with MCE or whatever, but i dunno i don't use MCE, simple, don't use it

I'm pretty sure It's K-Lite becuase i have it installed for one and when I uninstall it I dont have that problem with CPU being used up, but then I have no codec to play vids

well I uninstalled klite and installed VLC. I've played the videos fine on VLC with low memory consumption. I tried to play my videos through Media center on vista and it wont allow me as if i need codec.

I guess I'll have to find another codec pack that doesnt consume as much mem since VLC is just a media player and not a codec pack
