kaspersky AV question

I installed kaspersky 7.0 on my girlfriends pc last night and all was well until the end. It started running a scan and has not stopped. Its been runnig all night. The pc is an emachine t3604 and it has vista. Is this normal? She tried to get into her bank today and it would not let her. I used the express install not the custom.
 
i don't know if the installer is the same as KAV6 but you could have choose "typical" installation.
Probably everything (with unwanted module such as registry guard) was installed.
try doing a minimal install ( i don't think it will affect your license)
is THIS your GF's pc ?
 
Yes thats the machine. I did the express install which uses there default settings. Probably alot off overkill. Vistas protection warning came on but kaspersky said it would disable it.

There are KAVS that are Vista certified

Try the minimal install like i said, if the problem persists, try stopping the vista security services manually
 
It's fully compatible with Vista. I sell lots of them.

If the scan is taking that long, look at your harddrive. See if there's an indexing service running or anything like that.. But I've known those emachines harddrives to choke on many occasions, so it wouldn't surprise me if that drive is your problem.
